FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Should I be exercising while pregnant?
The answer to this question is YES, as long as you get an OK to exercise from your midwife/ doctor. It is absolutely beneficial for pregnant women to exercise. Here is why:
- maintain your fitness level
- improves your sleep and mood
- reduces stress
- improves your posture and reduces back pain
- might improve your recovery post deliver
- and many more
What do I need to bring to the session?
Make sure you are wearing comfortable clothing. If you are a female - I would recommend a sports bra for extra support.
If you prefer to bring your own exercise mat - that's all fine. I always have one spare exercise mat with me if you would like to use it - just bring a small towel to put on top of it.
Comfortable shoes and water bottle :)
How advanced do I need to be to exercise with a Personal Trainer?
There are no requirements when it comes to fitness level in order to hire a PT.
You can be a beginner in the fitness world - I am here to teach you the correct movement and make sure you are safe while doing your workout.
Depending on your fitness level - we usually start with basic movements and gradually over time build up and progress.
How does the first PT session usually look like?
For many new clients, the first session is quite a stressful experience. Why? Some don't know what to expect, others haven't been performing any kind of exercise for a long time and are afraid of disappointing themselves.
We always start the session with a warm up and mobility movements of your joints.
Then we go to the core phase - exercises. We always start with basic movements to see how you perform them. After that, I can actually start designing your fitness program with all the progressions. Also, it allows me to see what your body's weaknesses and imbalances are, so I can focus on them in your exercise program.
The session is always finished with a cool down and stretches.
What if I have some injuries?
It is very important that you inform your PT about any previous injuries/ conditions.
It is very important to keep active especially after getting injured. Why? We want to make sure to keep the full range of movement of your joint, and strengthen and stretch muscles around them. Also, prevent any further injuries and muscle imbalances.
Exercising can also reduce symptoms of some conditions, like high blood pressure, diabetes.
